The club project for the year was the complete renovation of the Brodribb Home for the Aged. A committee was appointed to plan the alterations and to devise means for raising the necessary funds. 500 Pounds was raised by the end of the year. The following further fund raising swelled this to 1,600 Pounds. The completed work with a surplus of 35 Pounds was handed over to the Brodribb Home Committee at the end of June 1953, by President Hector Jones.
In 1960, the club’s project of the year was the largest ever undertaken. The men’s quarters were in a dilapidated condition and had been condemned by the authorities. A complete plan of rebuilding and renovation was drawn up and the club undertook to raise the 4,000 Pounds which, with a government subsidy, would finance the new wing.
The largest amount of money ever raised by any service club in Toowoomba in a single year was handed over to Mrs Margaret Furness, President of the Brodribb Home Committee on June 19, 1961. 3,484 Pounds paid for the new Toowoomba Rotary Wing. [In 1960/61 the dinner meeting cost had increased to 10/- ($1).]
